Hot again today, with multiple rounds of storms possible through Saturday

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – After several days of mid-90s heat, thunderstorms are finally returning to the Tri-State. Unfortunately, the change will not happen all at once. Multiple opportunities for storms are in the forecast through Saturday, and exactly when each round develops remains somewhat uncertain.

Today will still be hot and humid with plenty of dry time. An isolated storm or two are possible during the day with only a slim chance this evening. Some could become strong to severe with damaging wind, frequent lightning and torrential rain. Repeated heavy downpours could also lead to localized flash flooding.

Saturday morning currently appears to have the greatest potential for widespread storms. How those storms evolve will play a big role in what happens later in the day. Additional scattered storms are possible Saturday afternoon, but coverage could become more limited if the morning storms stabilize the atmosphere.
