NKY family receives free wheelchair ramp as part of nonprofit’s nationwide effort

COVINGTON, Ky. (WKRC) – A Covington family is celebrating a new way for their son to get in and out of the house on his own after a nonprofit built him a wheelchair ramp for free.

Operation Ramp It Up, a nonprofit that helps people move around their homes more easily, installed the ramp at the home of 11-year-old Jordan Eckert, who was born with spina bifida.

The organization has installed more than 350 ramps at homes across the country at no cost, and this build marked ramp No. 358. The nonprofit has completed at least one ramp in every state.
