CHEATHAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A national nonprofit saved more than 45 animals from Cane-9 Rescue and Sanctuary’s property in Cheatham County earlier this week amid an ongoing investigation into the founder.
According to Animal Rescue Corps, “Operation Money Trail” included 37 dogs — six of which were nursing puppies, which made them extra vulnerable to unhealthy living conditions and neglect — along with seven chickens, two turkeys, and one pig.
This news comes in the wake of allegations involving Cane-9 Rescue and Sanctuary’s Georgia property, where search warrants were executed and arrests were announced as part of an investigation into animal cruelty and fraud. Since the Tennessee property is a separate but related location, ARC said the animals were surrendered as authorities continue investigating the organization’s operations.
