NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Early voting ends on Thursday across Tennessee.
News 2 took a look at early voting data through October 28 and found that nearly 1.9 million Tennesseans have cast already cast their vote in this year’s general election. According to the Tennessee Secretary of State, that has made estimated voter turnout 38.85 percent.
“This [ election] is a pretty big deal,” first-time Wilson County voter Hailey Lee told News 2. “It’s a very big deal.”

Overall, illustration from the Secretary of State showed that, as of Oct. 30, early voter turnout numbers are 33.66 percent higher compared to turnout through the first 12 days of the 2016 general election in Tennessee.
However, early voter turnout through the first 12 days of this election is 4.46 percent lower compared to voter turnout through the first 12 days of the 2020 general election.
“This is an important time,” military veteran and Wilson County voter Rodrigo Torres said. “We need to unify together as a country, get our voices heard, and this is the way to do it.”
