Clarksville council approves first step for senior housing on Frosty Morn property

The City of Clarksville moved closer to providing affordable housing for seniors after the Clarksville City Council approved the first reading of a resolution on April 6.

During a special session, the Clarksville City Council passed the first reading of a resolution that would allow the city to enter a 75-year ground lease agreement to develop affordable senior housing at the Frosty Morn property with a 10-2 vote.

Under the proposal, the city would lease the property to SOCAYR, a Kentucky nonprofit corporation, to construct and operate the senior housing. Plans for the senior living housing include approximately 65 units of income-restricted housing for seniors 55 years old and older…
