Clarksville middle school employee accidentally presses panic button, triggering lockdown

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A Clarksville middle school employee accidentally triggered a campus lockdown on Wednesday, according to the school district.

The district confirmed that there was no threat to the campus, explaining in a message to WSMV4 that the lockdown was caused when a Richview Middle School employee accidentally hit her wearable panic button. The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System reported that the lockdown was quickly lifted.

“We deeply appreciate our law enforcement partners, and we apologize for this accidental lockdown activation. I also want to thank our students and employees for their cooperation,” said a message sent to Richview families…
