CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF/CNN Newsource/WKRC) — Police in Tennessee say a young mother was murdered by her partner after she tried leaving the relationship.
Samarah Smith’s family told WTVF that Smith was a devoted mother to her baby daughter, Zariah, as well as a loving sister, daughter and friend. The family said she loved music, dancing, eating and sharing her world online, but, behind that joy, they said Smith was struggling to leave an abusive relationship with her child’s father, 21-year-old Camron Walker.
“She knew she was in a bad situation and the day that she got out of it and she ended it, that should have ended it,” said Brandi Shekell, Smith’s mother.
