Pinellas Park Cracks Down On High-Crash Roads In New State Safety Blitz

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. – Drivers in Pinellas Park will notice a much larger police presence on major roads over the next nine months. The Pinellas Park Police Department has officially launched a joint traffic safety initiative with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Seven, targeting the city’s most dangerous state roadways.

The enforcement surge, part of the state’s Enhanced Law Enforcement Engagement (ELEE) Program, began on July 1, 2026, and is scheduled to run through March 31, 2027. By flooding high-crash areas with visible patrols, officials aim to deter reckless driving, lower the number of traffic accidents, and prevent severe injuries or fatalities.

“Too often, our officers respond to crashes that could have been prevented,” Pinellas Park Police Chief Adam Geissenberger said. “Whether it’s speeding, impaired driving, or distracted driving, a single poor decision can have lifelong consequences. This partnership gives us another opportunity to prevent those tragedies before they happen.”…
