USS Cleveland completes first transit through Great Lakes, arrives at port

The most recent battleship to bear the name of Cleveland completed its maiden transit late last week and is now in its homeport in Naval Station Mayport, Florida.

According to the USS Cleveland Legacy Foundation — the organization tasked with supporting the ship and crew — the vessel traveled more than 2,700 nautical miles in more than 40 days as it navigated four Great Lakes on its way to the Florida port.
