Suspect Wanted for Drug Trafficking in Cleveland Arrested by U.S. Marshals in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, NV – According to a press release issued by the U.S. Marshals on Thursday, February 8, 2024, on February 7, 2024, the U.S. Marshals Service Nevada Violent Offender Task Force successfully arrested a wanted suspect on a multi-defendant indictment from the Northern District of Ohio – Cleveland.

The suspect, Markell Boyd, 44, faced federal charges related to Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance, Distribution of a Controlled Substance, and Use of a Communication Facility in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime, stemming from a warrant issued in 2019 as part of Operation Hadley’s Hope.

The U.S. Marshals Service Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, having received information about Boyd’s presence in Las Vegas, sought assistance from their Nevada counterparts.

Boyd, with a history of violent offenses, allegedly participated in a drug trafficking operation involving Fentanyl, Heroin, and Oxycodone.

Boyd was arrested without incident by the Nevada Violent Offender Task Force at approximately 12:45 p.m. in the 3700 block of Las Vegas Blvd S, where he was reportedly selling CDs on the Las Vegas Strip. Currently in U.S. Marshals Service custody, Boyd awaits hearings for his federal warrant.
