Mentor to fire board member who used racial slur in widely shared video

MENTOR, Ohio — A member of Mentor’s Board of Building and Zoning Appeals is expected to be removed from her position after a video circulating on social media showed her using a racial slur during a confrontation with a resident.

A city spokesperson confirmed the person in the video is Kathy Miller, who serves as a volunteer on the board. City Council intends to remove her from the position, according to a statement from the city.
