Tense Parma school board meeting follows failed levy, sparking debate over safety and funding

PARMA, Ohio — Emotions ran high at a packed Parma school board meeting on Thursday, just days after voters rejected a proposed levy aimed at supporting district operations and safety measures.

Superintendent Dr. Scott Hunt warned the levy’s failure could force the Parma City School District to return to voters in November, as well as potentially consider significant budget cuts if additional funding is not secured.
