University Heights hires architectural firm to design new police and fire station

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio — City Council voted to move along further plans to build a new police and fire station on the grounds of city hall during its meeting Monday (May 4) by hiring an architect of record for the project, DLR Group.

Based in Cleveland, DLR Group has designed institutional structures such as the Ismaili Center in Houston, the Terminal 1 Port of Vancouver in Washington State, Compton High School in California, and others throughout the United States. These finished buildings and more can be seen on the firm’s website.

“They’ve done over 50 (municipal and institutional buildings) throughout the country,” said Mayor Michele Weiss, of DLR Group. “They’re top rated around the country.”…
