Dogs in Douglas County have a new reason to wag their tails. The newly opened Looking Glass Community Park, located at 13434 Long Rider Street in Parker, is quickly becoming a favorite gathering place for pets and people alike. In close proximity to Chambers Road and Spirit Trail Boulevard, the nearly 26-acre park features a fenced dog park alongside playgrounds, pickleball courts, sports fields, picnic areas and scenic open space.
Much like other off-leash parks throughout Douglas County, the new park offers dogs a fenced-in place to run free and socialize with other dogs. Visitors are encouraged to follow good dog park etiquette: ensure your dog(s) are vaccinated, keep under voice control, clean up waste (bags are provided at all locations) and remain mindful of other dogs and park users.
Most Douglas County dog parks operate from one hour before sunrise until one hour after sunset. It is a good idea to bring your own water, bowl and waste bags in case the park is in short supply…
