(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A temporary shelter-in-place was ordered in a neighborhood just south of Northgate Boulevard, east of I-25, when police encountered a man brandishing a gun and yelling at neighbors on Saturday night, June 6, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).
Police reported that at around 10 p.m. on Saturday, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Deschutes Drive, where a 67-year-old man was allegedly brandishing a handgun and yelling at neighbors. When officers found the man, who lived in the neighborhood, he was standing at the threshold of a neighbor’s open garage, holding a handgun.
Police ordered a brief shelter-in-place for the immediate surrounding area while they established contact, according to CSPD. Officers were able to get a rapport with the suspect, and soon he agreed to put the gun down. He was detained without further incident and arrested for disorderly conduct, after which he was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation. No other injuries or damage were reported…
