Suspect arrested after speeding away from Colorado Springs police, crash sends passenger to hospital

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Colorado Springs police arrested a suspect early Monday after an attempt to contact a gathering of people believed to be related to street racers led to the suspect driving away from officers and crashing.

Colorado Springs police said that at about 2 a.m., officers were patrolling in the 300 block of North Academy Boulevard, near Vickers Drive.

Officers found multiple vehicles in a closed parking lot, police said. The business had experienced ongoing problems with gatherings of street racers during the overnight hours and an active trespass notice…
