COLUMBIA, S.C. — Investigators with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department (RCSD) are looking into the circumstances of a stabbing at Alvin S Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC) that left two detainees injured.
RCSD deputies were notified of the incident by ASGDC staff around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 26. Responding to the jail, deputies observed two inmates that had sustained non-life threatening injuries. One of the inmates was transported to a local hospital by ASGDC staff for treatment with injuries consistent with puncture or stab wounds. The other inmate refused medical care and none of those injuries were life-threatening.
