South Carolina has found its next head coach, and fortunately for UNC baseball fans, it’s not Scott Forbes.
The Gamecocks will be naming Coastal Carolina’s Kevin Schnall as its next head coach. Schnall was heavily considered the favorite for the job if South Carolina couldn’t lure Forbes out of Chapel Hill.

South Carolina tried to get Forbes to become their next head coach. Let’s not downplay it one bit. If Forbes had any type of interest, this could’ve gotten deeper than it already was, but fortunately, Forbes is a Tar Heed born and bred.

It goes to show how respected Forbes is for the job he’s done at the University of North Carolina. When you’re elite at your job, other top-tier caliber programs take notice, especially when head coaching jobs become available…
