Millennials own more homes than they rent, and now, they’re choosing new spots to settle down.
Millennials own the second-largest percentage (26%) of the housing market in the U.S. in 2026, down from 29% in 2025, according to the National Association of Realtors. Baby Boomers still own the largest percentage of homes in the U.S. (42%), and Gen X owns 25%.
