COLUMBIA — Before the presidents of the University of South Carolina moved into their modern, many-windowed home, they lived in a two-and-a-half story, stuccoed stone house that sat at the head of the campus’s historic Horseshoe.
Torn down in 1930, a historic marker signals its former site, which is now in front of the columned McKissick building that was once the school’s library and is about to be renovated to add more space for teaching and learning.
