Kentucky won a thriller at South Carolina, but Will Stein knows he cost his team a chance to win it before overtime.
The Wildcats had the ball across midfield with 18 seconds left in a 27-27 game, but failed to get a final shot at the end zone or a long field goal off. Snapping at the 39, Kentucky completed a pass over the middle for two yards and couldn’t get another play off before time expired. Afterward, Stein took full responsibility for the sequence.
“They should debate it. That was bad by me,” Stein told Tom Leach when asked about fans questioning the sequence. “That was very poor by me, nobody else’s fault, and that’ll get addressed.”…
