Gamecocks’ MiLaysia Fulwiley receives SEC honor

(WSPA) – The University of South Carolina’s MiLaysia Fulwiley was named co-Freshman of the Week by the SEC for her role in the Gamecocks’ convincing win at Texas A&M last week.

Fulwiley led the Gamecocks in points on the way to the 35-point win, posting her first career 20-point game. She finished the night with 21 points, three assists, one steal and one block.

Fulwiley was efficient in her 20 minutes of play, going 8-of-12 from the field and nailing 3-of-5 from three-point range. She capped off the night with a perfect second quarter, going 5-of-5 with eight of her 13 points coming during the team’s 12-2 run to close the half.

The freshman’s 13 points in the quarter matched the team’s season high so far.
