Rosewood Crawfish Festival is still rolling, scuttles indoors

Get your bibs on, Columbia, it’s crawfish time.

This Saturday, the Rosewood Crawfish Festival will return to the fairgrounds (1200 Rosewood Drive) from 11 a.m.–7p.m., but under the cover of roofs due to the drizzly forecast.

But despite the rain, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band will still shine as the festival’s headliner. Bringing traditional New Orleans jazz style — infused with some funk — to Soda City, the band will provide the soundtrack to all the crawfish you could even dream of eating.

“We have a guy that brings, like, this giant claw machine that cooks crawfish by the hundreds of pounds. He cooks them throughout the day and they get spicier and spicier because they never take any of the spice out, they just keep adding more as they cook more and more,” festival organizer Dave Britt told ColaDaily…
