Skeletal remains found in West Columbia; no signs of foul play, authorities say

WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. — Authorities are investigating after learning of skeletal remains found in Lexington County.

The West Columbia Police Department said it was made aware of the remains around 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Authorities aren’t yet elaborating on where the remains were found as the investigation continues, but confirmed they were within the city of West Columbia.

Both the department and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office said there was no evidence of foul play at the time. Coroner Margaret Fisher said her office is working to positively identify the deceased at this time…
