SMITHS STATION, Ala. (WRBL) — A 17-year-old was injured Monday after being hit by a vehicle while riding a scooter in Smiths Station, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Jay Jones said the teen was taken to Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital for treatment. The extent of the teen’s injuries has not been released.
The crash happened around 11:44 a.m. in the 1700 block of Lee Road 430.
Authorities temporarily closed Lee Road 430 between the underpass and Smiths Station City Hall while emergency crews responded to the scene and investigated the crash. Drivers were urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes…
