Columbus police, teen leaders prepare for curfew’s first big test this Fourth of July weekend

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – The Fourth of July weekend will mark the first major test of Columbus’s new uptown curfew for unsupervised minors, according to Assistant Police Chief Lance Deaton.

Officers are planning a significant increase in patrols — and two local youth organizations say they are mobilizing alongside them to give teens a safe place to go.
