CRAWFORD, Ala. (WRBL) — Additional funds have now been allocated for the Russell County Sheriff’s Office’s substation soon coming to Crawford.
According to officials, the Russell County Commission has established the substation to be located on the corner of Alabama State Route 169 North and U.S. Highway 80 West.
The substation project is advancing with the discretionary and projects funds of the Russell County Sheriff’s Office. Russell County officials say $20,000 from the county project fund will be allocated to that substation.
“People in the community can come to the substation there. The precinct may be for pistol permits or to get reports or things like that. But we’re gonna try and work a schedule where I can open that office with personnel in there during the day once we get everything completed,” said Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor.
