COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – Friday is our best chance of rain we’ve had all week; that will also cut down on the heat (not the mugginess). However, we dry out over the weekend and most of us avoid rain.
Partly cloudy to partly sunny Friday. We started off with some spotty showers and thundershowers first thing Friday. The best overall coverage of scattered showers and storms is anticipated during the afternoon and early evening, generally between 2 and 8 PM ET. At least half of us should get rain. A couple storms may be strong to severe packing isolated pockets of damaging wind and/or hail. Highs Friday reach 90 to 94 degrees with feels like temperatures around 102 to 104 degrees.
We’re keeping an eye on the forecast for high school football games. WE will be streaming the Stateline Showdown as Northside in Columbus plays at Smiths Station. Showers and storms will rumble in spots. Some stadiums will likely have lightning delays. It will quiet down as the night goes on. Lows early Saturday will be in the low to mid 70s…
