A Georgia man was arrested after he allegedly slapped his daughter and picked her up by her ears on Saturday after she lost a wrestling match.

Hall County deputies responded to a report of a man hitting a child at Cherokee Bluff Middle School just after 2 p.m., WSB-TV reported.

Steven Mathue Slaton, 38, allegedly punched his daughter in the back, slapped her in the face, picked her up by her ears and lifted her over his head, deputies told the station.

The child was not injured during the incident. She was at the school for a private youth wrestling event.

Slaton posted bond on Monday for a felony charge of cruelty to children in the first degree.
