Judge again finds Ohio man accused of murder incompetent to stand trial

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) – An Ohio man accused of killing a Missouri resident at a rest stop near Grand Island remains mentally incompetent to stand trial, and his case has again been continued.

Court records show James Thompson, 24, is charged with murder, assault and five weapons charges in connection with the June 2024 death of Gary Weaver, 72, of Eureka, Missouri. Investigators have said the incident happened at a rest stop near Grand Island.
