Second round of flooding hits southeast Ohio, prompts new rescues

PERRY COUNTY, Ohio — Communities still recovering from historic flooding in southeast Ohio are dealing with another round of flash flooding after heavy rain again sent water into parts of Perry County.

Flooding was reported Sunday in Crooksville, Rose Farm and New Lexington, just days after the region was inundated by storms that displaced hundreds of people and caused widespread damage to homes, businesses and infrastructure.

The Crooksville Fire Department said overnight rain flooded Crooksville, Rose Farm and surrounding areas for the second time in less than a week. Several agencies were responding Sunday, with crews conducting additional water rescues…
