COLUMBUS, Ohio — Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is now warning about a new wave of text message scams targeting drivers.
In a Facebook post Wednesday, the sheriff’s office said they have received several reports of people receiving these false traffic violation notices.
The notice claims to have come from the Franklin County Municipal Court as a “final notice.” The message urges people to pay by scanning a QR code in the document. In the Facebook post, the sheriff’s office warns that it is a scam.
