Authorities have identified and spoken with the man who squeezed a puppy through the iron fencing of the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center in the middle of the night last Friday. The dog, named Magnolia by shelter staff, was unharmed.
While the facility accepts animal surrenders during regular hours, officials shared concern over the way the puppy was abandoned. The case has been referred to the Orange County District Attorney to determine if charges will be filed.
“She’s approximately eight weeks old and weighs about three pounds. We’re guessing she’s a Chihuahua mix, possibly a Chihuahua-Min Pin mix,” said Senior Animal Control Officer Sgt. J.R. Stewart.
Whatever her breed, Magnolia is lucky…
