More big changes are happening at television newsrooms in South Texas. As one beloved reporter says goodbye to the Coastal Bend, another is saying hello.
Local Alice journalist Melissa Treviño recently announced her departure from KRIS 6 News after serving for several years as the NBC affiliate’s “neighborhood news reporter” for Jim Wells, Duval, Brooks and Live Oak counties. Meanwhile, ABC affiliate KIII 3 News welcomed a new meteorologist to its weather team.

“After nearly three years of being in front of your television screens, I am moving on to a different part of my journalistic career,” Treviño said while standing in downtown Alice in a video posted to her official KRIS 6 Facebook account on June 28.
