Major weather team shakeup brings new meteorologist to Texas coast

After years of chasing tornadoes and tracking massive hail in West Texas, meteorologist Madison Hartin is trading the South Plains for hurricane country.

Hartin is joining KIII 3 News in Corpus Christi as the station’s newest meteorologist and will make her weekend newscast debut Saturday. Chief meteorologist Carly Smith introduced Hartin on social media and on the air Friday, July 3.

“Madison brings a bright energy to the newsroom already,” Smith wrote. “I can’t wait for y’all to catch her on the weekend evening newscasts!”

Hartin comes to Corpus Christi from KAMC in Lubbock, where she spent five years covering West Texas weather. Her last day at the station was June 19…
