APISD to continue free student meals

Students in Aransas Pass ISD will continue receiving free meals for the 2026-2027 school year under a continuing federal provision, according to the school district.

According to a July 24 news release, APISD students will receive the meals under the Federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). The CEP is granted under the umbrella of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), according to the district.

The district will not be required to collect applications for free, reduced-price, and paid student meals due to this provision. The release said meals will be served at the district’s campuses of Faulk Elementary, Charlie Marshall Elementary, Blunt Middle School and Aransas Pass High School…
