UT sues Staples Street Meat Market over longhorn logo

The University of Texas has filed a lawsuit against Staples Street Meat Market and its owner, Michael Meehan, accusing the Corpus Christi business of trademark infringement, unfair competition, and trademark dilution.

The university filed the lawsuit on July 29th, alleging the meat market uses a longhorn logo it says is identical to its registered trademark, along with an orange color scheme that could lead customers to believe the business is affiliated with the university.
