CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Cardiologists across the country are highlighting new national guidelines aimed at detecting high cholesterol earlier and preventing heart disease.
Developed by the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology, the new recommendations aim to replace guidelines issued in 2018. They focus on earlier screenings, lifestyle changes and improved methods to calculate a person’s risk of heart attacks and strokes.
