Sales tax allocations released this month by the Texas Comptroller’s Office showed mixed results for cities across the South Texas News coverage area, with several communities posting gains while others experienced declines compared to the same period last year.
In Aransas County, the City of Rockport received $359,517.85 in sales tax revenue for the current period, a slight decrease of 0.48% from May 2025. Year-to-date payments for Rockport totaled more than $1.57 million, up 1.66% from the same period last year. Fulton saw a stronger increase, receiving $37,530.16 for the month, up 16.76%.
Among other area cities, Portland posted one of the largest gains, with monthly allocations climbing 14.63% to $891,848.62, while Odem increased 12.15% to $58,810.05. Refugio also reported an 11.99% increase for the month…
