ROSWELL, Ga. — Roswell fire crews rescued a child Wednesday afternoon after she fell down an embankment and into Vickery Creek while hiking with family, officials said.
The incident happened on the National Park Service side of the park, where the child was able to get out of the water but could not climb back up the steep bank, according to fire officials.
Because the best access was from the Roswell side, responders launched an inflatable boat, reached the child and took her back across the creek. The family was reunited on the Roswell side, and no injuries were reported.
