Buford resident Rori Fernandez, a student in the University of North Georgia’s Public Safety Academy, spent time this summer at the University of Tennessee-Martin gaining experience and earning college credit toward her criminal justice degree.
With plans to become a crime scene investigator when she graduates in 2027 with a degree in criminal justice with forensics concentration and Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Council certification, Fernandez recently attended the National Forensic Academy Collegiate Program at Tennessee-Martin, an in-residence, three-week experience.
