Woman pays restitution, sentenced to probation after stealing from Gainesville non-profit

A Flowery Branch woman has been forced to pay tens of thousands of dollars in restitution and sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to stealing from a local non-profit.

Rebecca Vinson, age 55, pleaded guilty in Hall County Superior Court on Tuesday, May 5, to a charge of felony theft by taking after Gainesville police said she stole money from the non-profit Randy & Friends, LLC, which is now known as Bloom Enterprises. She was working with the non-profit as its executive director at the time of the thefts, which were between March of 2022 and November of 2023.

Police said Vinson ultimately stole $77,000 dollars from the group.

She was ordered Tuesday to pay $77,000 in restitution to Bloom Enterprises, and was sentenced to 10 years’ probation by Northeastern Judicial Circuit Superior Court Judge John Breakfield. According to court documents, that restitution has already been paid in full…
