DALLAS — Dallas has a new social club where members can play poker. Champions Social Club is in the middle of its grand opening in North Dallas near Frankford and the Dallas North Tollway.
This comes after previous tensions with the city and some residents over the legality of such establishments and whether one was appropriate for the North Dallas area.
Gambling is illegal in Texas for the most part, unless it’s done in a private place and no person gets any economic benefit other than personal winnings, and the risks are equal for all participants, according to the Texas Association of Counties.
