Mass layoffs slam Texas before JPMorgan Chase shutters department

As the first half of the year wraps up, the annual wave of mass layoffs are beginning to crowd spreadsheets hosted by the Texas Workforce Commission.

Nearly 1,200 Texans were hit in June alone so far, and JPMorgan Chase sent 244 Plano workers to the unemployment line as it announced it would shutter a call center.

On Tuesday, June 23, one of the biggest banking intuitions operating in Texas confirmed the mass layoff with state officials, confirming the fraud and customer services protection services call center operations would cease at 8181 Communications Parkway.
