Jason’s Deli has closed its longtime location at 101 S. Coit Road, Ste. 385 in Richardson, ending a run at the Dal-Rich Towne Square shopping center as of last Friday. The Beaumont-based sandwich and salad chain announced the closure through a social media post, thanking loyal customers, its staff and the community for the memories built over the years.
The Coit Road closure was first reported by Community Impact, which noted the restaurant had served sandwiches, salads, baked potatoes and pasta from the site. The store sat inside Dal-Rich Towne Square, a 163,000-square-foot neighborhood shopping center anchored by Cottonwood Market at the intersection of Coit and Belt Line roads, according to Weitzman. The center is a historic retail property built in 1965 that has undergone major exterior renovations in recent years.
Richardson isn’t losing the brand entirely. Jason’s Deli still operates a second local outlet at 165 S. Plano Road, in eastern Richardson near Berkner Park, where dine-in, pickup, delivery and catering remain available, per the company’s own location listing on jasonsdeli.com.
A Chain With Deep Texas Roots
Jason’s Deli was founded on November 30, 1976, in Beaumont by Joe Tortorice Jr. and partners, and has since grown to 239 locations across 27 states as of mid-2025, according to background compiled on the company’s history. The chain was named after Tortorice’s eldest son, Jay.
