National Weather Service Issues Extreme Heat Warning for Dallas-Fort Worth Area Tuesday as Temperatures Near 108 Degrees and Grass Fire Risk Rises Across North Texas

DALLAS, TX — North Texans are facing another intense round of heat Tuesday, and forecasters say conditions will be hot enough for the National Weather Service to issue an Extreme Heat Warning. High temperatures are expected to reach 108 degrees in parts of North Texas, with the heat index making it feel as hot as 109 degrees.

The warning is in effect from noon until 8 p.m. Tuesday. It covers Dallas, Tarrant, Denton and Collin counties, with the affected area stretching from Johnson and Ellis counties in the south to north of the Texas-Oklahoma border.

The National Weather Service uses an Extreme Heat Warning when it expects extremely dangerous heat conditions. The agency says people should stay indoors in air conditioning and avoid outdoor activities when possible.
