COPPELL, Texas — Coppell-based Smoothie King unveiled its newest creation, a pickle smoothie in collaboration with Grillo’s Pickle.
The drink, which has already been released nationwide, is an attempt to ride the wave of pickles’ viral popularity, according to a press release from Smoothie King. Pickles have recently become one of the most popular ingredients to add to popular snacks and drinks, from pickle chips to pickle margaritas.
“Pickles are not only delicious and having a cultural moment, they also offer real nutritional benefits, especially known for their enhanced hydration,” Lori Primavera, vice president of R&D and product marketing at Smoothie King, said in a press release. “That combination gave us an opportunity to explore them in a new format and push our innovation into new territory, reimagining how a beloved flavor can deliver both function and taste.”…
