Montgomery County, City of Moraine respond to rainwater-related sewer overflow

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ohio (WKEF) –Montgomery County Environmental Services (MCES) and the City of Moraine are responding to a sewer overflow after heavy rainfall overwhelmed parts of the sanitary system earlier this week.

Officials are urging residents to avoid standing water near the Payne Recreation Center and Swimming Hold Road, as stormwater in the area may be mixed with sewage.

County crews were notified Friday after residents reported debris in low-lying neighborhoods, an early sign that contaminated water may have entered the area.
