Dayton, Ohio – Drivers traveling through school zones in Dayton are being reminded about the city’s photo enforcement program and how its speed cameras operate.
Speed cameras have been installed in every school zone across Dayton as part of an effort to encourage drivers to follow traffic laws and reduce unsafe driving around schools.
The cameras operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They are synchronized with school zone schedules so they recognize when the lower school zone speed limit is in effect.
What happens when a possible violation is detected
When the system detects a speeding violation, a flash will alert the driver that a photograph has been taken. However, detection by the camera does not automatically mean that a citation will be issued…
