Evergreen businesses ready for relief as Highway 74 work nears finish

EVERGREEN, Colo. (KDVR) — A flooded parking lot, cones and no-parking signs have become a familiar sight in downtown Evergreen.

Businesses told FOX31 that four to five months of construction along Highway 74 have made parking and access more difficult and one business said sales are down as much as 40% compared with last year.

At Cactus Jack’s Saloon and Grill, head chef Gus Mitchell said the restaurant has also dealt with repeated flooding this year.

“And we’ve flooded four times this year, three or four times. I’ve lost count and it’s definitely affecting it,” he said…
